           MASK  MONDAYS !

The Warren County Commisioners has partnered with local jurisdictions, first responders, and county agencies to provide masks to Warren County residents at risk from effects of COVID-19. If you are in one of the listed at-risk categories, you can visit one of the locations to pick up a mask at no cost.

 

At risk categories could include, cancer, renal disease, COPD, immunocompromized state from solid organ transplant, obesity, serious heart condition, sickle cell disease, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and elderly with pre-existing conditions.

Township residents should have received their letters in the mail on or around June 2nd.

These were mailed from Akron, OH by Energy Harbor our lowest bidder for the next 36 month supplier contract. 

This is your program that was approved by the voters in 2016.

Breaking News:  We went back out to market and received bids from Electric Suppliers for the Wayne Township program. We were able to lock in a low rate for 36 months. @ $0.0459 per kWh.

All Independence Day Activities

Community,

 

All of the committee members that work on different aspects of the Independence Day activities have with regrets elected to cancel this year’s Waynesville 4th of July activities in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes all related events from the Parade, Bicentennial Park events: Band, food and other vendors, children activities, to our beloved Firework display. This has been a difficult decision and comes at an unexpected time for our Country. The safety and health of the volunteers, performers, vendors and especially our community members is ultimately our first priority.

 

Please continue to honor Independence Day by celebrating it in a responsible manner, following current state and federal distancing guidelines. The Independence Day celebration activities will return in 2021 when the Waynesville community can again celebrate together.

In the future, Fitzwater, will be conducting line clearance tree trimming in your area.  If there are trees on your property that are close to the powerlines a Fitzwater  representative will notify you in advance of any necessary trimming.  If you are not at home, the Fitzwater representative will leave a door hanger with contact information where you may reach them to answer any questions.  ALL POLES ARE CLEARED OF ANY VEGETATION.  If you have general questions you can contact Dayton Power and Light at 937-331-3900.  Or visit our website at DP and L . com for information about our tree trimming and Right Tree Right Place programs.  Thank you.

RETIREMENT: Deputy Chief Roger Wainscott

Wayne Township Fire Department on April 30, 2020 wished Mr. Wainscott a Happy Retirement.

Roger has been with W.T.F.D. since December 2, 1986. He has held several ranks from Firefighter up to Deputy Chief. Roger started his fire service with the City of Lebanon and then Turtlecreek Township before moving to Waynesville. 

Roger was instamental in the development and design team on the NEW Fire Station. His knowledge, leadership and dedication will be greatly missed.  47 years of Community Service: Thank You Sir!

Construction to begin the week of October 21st.

Locating utilities and removal of marked trees.

 

Week of Oct. 28th: 

Start replacing driveway culverts on west side of roadway beginning ar SR-73.

Nov. 4th: Ditching and first cross-over pipe.

Nov. 11th: Finish driveway culverts on West side and start on East side.

Nov. 18th: Finish remainder of driveway pipes and start shaping ditches.

Dec. 16th: All work completed until spring. 

Street repaved in the spring.

Did you know that temporary and/or portable signs are prohibited in the public right-of-way?  

Yard sale signs, team sign-up signs, event announcements...etc. are all prohibited in the public-right-of way. These signs can obscure the vision of motorists and motorcyclists leading to unsafe driving conditions and create challenges for the Local, County and State crews that maintain the rights-of-way, or areas along our road ways. 

 

Signs may be displayed on private property, outside the right-of-way, with the permission of the property owner. Limit of 1 per 20 feet of roadway per section 3.407.6 of the Wayne Township Zoning Code and Wayne Township Board of Trustees Resolution 2017-36. No permit or fee is needed if they are under 4 sq. ft. in area and less than 4 ft. tall.

 

Larger signs need to be located at least 10' outside of the right-of-way and are limited to 24 sq. ft. 

 

Signs will be collected on a regular basis and held for at least 1 week at the Wayne Township Administration Building at 6050 N. Clarksville Rd.
