CURRENT FACILITY IS NOT MEETING THE NEEDS OF A GROWING COMMUNITY

According to CDS Associates, an independent consultant firm (dba CT Consultants):  

“Currently, a single Fire Station, located in the Heart of the Historical downtown area, services Wayne Township. This  station serves approximately 46.3 square miles. Combinations of factors over the years have lead several administrations to contemplate the need to expand and upgrade the Fire/EMS service to meet the demands of the growing municipality. A previous study by CDS identified the problems with the existing Fire Station showing that the facility is not adequate for meeting the township’s future needs. It is an older facility, which needs many updates to be efficient and safe, not only with the department’s spatial needs but also with the mechanical systems and the building envelope is deficient.”

The growth of the community and its needs will only continue to apply pressure to the existing facility.
